- 雑誌『庭』第261号の連載「庭道具考（第25回）」の執筆記事。剪定鋏づくりにおいて西の横綱とも言われるおの義刃物の田中寛之氏と田中利樹氏を取材。「やさしい隙間」と題し、数え切れないほどのマイナーチェンジを繰り返してきた改良A型をピックアップ。軽量化や握り心地、刃の付き方や角度などの工夫を紐解き、その根底にある田中兄弟の「やさしさ」というモノづくりの想いに迫ったレポート。
連載「庭道具考」は、2009年の「庭師道具図鑑」に始まり、「庭師を支える匠の技」「庭師のためのREADY MADE TOOLS」を経て続いている連載です。浦田浩志が2009年から取材・執筆・撮影を担当し、2013年からは取材先の選定も担っています。

Interviewed Hiroyuki Tanaka and Toshiki Tanaka of ONOYOSHI HAMONO known as a master of pruning shears in western Japan. Focusing on their refined A-gata shears this report explores the craftsmanship behind its weight reduction grip comfort and blade angles revealing the spirit of kindness embedded in their manufacturing philosophy.

The series began in 2009 as “Niwashi Dōgu Zukan”, continued as “Niwashi wo Sasaeru Takumi no Waza” and “Niwashi no Tame no READY MADE TOOLS”, and now runs as “Niwa Dōgu Kō (Reflections on Garden Tools)”. Hiroshi Urata has interviewed, written and photographed each installment since 2009, and has also selected the artisans featured since 2013.
